Dawkins Green Barrel was launched at The Green Man pub 10th October 2008 and is now officially certified organic by the Soil Association.

Somerset brewer Stuart Matthews has crafted our 4% amber ale by hand with great balance of organic local malt & organic hops. Amber, distinctive, refreshing, crisp, pure.

The brewery is running at full capacity at the moment so there is not enough for all the pubs; it is now a permanent line at The Green Man and The Portcullis, will hit The Hillgrove September. The beer will pop up now and then as a guest beer in all our other pubs.

After the success of our festive Santa’s Little Blinder by Blindmans brewery in Frome, The Portcullis’ Brainchild Mild by Arbor of Kingswood,  Stroud’s organic version of their Redcoat Ruby and the special Organic Mild  and September festival Special made for The Green Man by Butts of Berkshire, we’re looking at more exclusive Dawkins brews in partnership with local microbrewers this year!
